As is pretty common in the world of books, I follow a star-rating system to help me really flesh out my reviews. It helps me to organise my emotions about any book I’ve read. But, as is very rarely spoken about, every person has their own reasons for their rating. So, to avoid confusion, here’s my rating:
DNF
Did not finish – pretty self-explanatory! I didn’t like the book, so I didn’t continue.
*Throws book across the room* – this basically means I hated the book. There was little-to-nothing I liked about the book but I can’t imagine using this star very much!
Not that good – when I just wish that there was more that I liked or if the book just didn’t deliver.
Enjoyable but not mind-blowing – don’t see this as a ‘bad’ rating! It was a good, enjoyable book but wasn’t perfect.
A great read – just not quite perfect… but so close!
Amazing! – Reserved for my favourites. The best of the best.
